Digital Preservation Review Programme Established

The Bureau of Digital Antiquities announces the establishment of a continuing Digital Preservation Review Programme for Digital Objects recorded in the Forgotten Web Exchange.

Under the programme, designated Bureau offices will periodically review catalogued Digital Objects to verify their accessibility, integrity and current preservation status. Review findings will be incorporated into the relevant FWX catalogue records as part of the Bureau’s continuing preservation and documentation activities.

The programme also provides for the identification of Digital Objects whose original network locations have become unavailable, materially altered or unrelated to the historically documented object.

Review frequency may vary according to operational status, preservation condition and the availability of surviving network or archival resources.
